14 Jun Resources for Medical Missions in 2021
A large number of teams are planning to return to the medical mission field this year, but not everything is the same as it was the last time they went. To help navigate the new face of missions and travel, we’ve compiled some practical resources we recommend to those returning (or wanting to return) to the international medical mission field within the year.
Conferences
With many conferences having worked out a virtual option between last year and this season, there are few reasons not to attend at least one health conference this year. Like in-person gatherings, virtual conferences allow attendees to glean pertinent information about current topics, and even interact with other virtual attendees and exhibitors.
One of the best virtual conference experiences is the Global Missions Health Conference. Before 2020, GMHC was already developing a virtual approach to making the conference even more global. As such, when the pandemic forced the 25th annual gathering to be entirely virtual, GMHC was prepared, having a full platform for plenary sessions, exhibit halls, break-out sessions, chat opportunities, and much more.

Free Export Shipping
With many trips having been cancelled in 2020, the supply gap in third-world nations is so much greater than before. As such, many teams need a larger supply of medicines to equip their clinics and outreaches.
We are helping teams transport their orders by offering free export shipping on all orders over $1,500. With large orders going directly to the port of import, teams are able to provide more medical care and can travel more easily.

Telehealth
Even with many restrictions lifted, it’s not always possible to care for individuals in-person.
One thing the COVID-19 pandemic taught us was how to “be there” when physical presence was not possible. This creativity has led some very innovative medical providers to facilitate medical missions from across the world via telehealth (like this clinic in Sierra Leone).
Today, there are a number of beneficial resources for telehealth, and we have compiled some of those that we partner alongside or recommend.
