12 Sep Averting the Crisis in Medical Missions
There is a crisis in medical missions that is directly related to the global effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to Will Rogers, executive director of the Global Missions Health Conference, twenty percent of healthcare missionaries are returning home, many of them with no intention of returning to the field.
“As we’re seeing the repercussions of COVID-19 on global healthcare missions, we’re seeing one of the greatest attritions in history of people coming home,” Rogers said. “Many of those returning have indicated that just having some relief and support while serving overseas would have made a huge difference.”
To combat this attrition and to increase support, this fall, GMHC is hosting the following events and resources:

Blessings International is proud to be a partner organization with GMHC. We encourage everyone involved (or wanting to be involved) in medical missions to take part in and tell others about these tools and events. Together, we can reverse the pattern the mission field is experiencing.
